Prosecutor: I’m afraid it’s pretty cut and dried, ma’am. It’s black and white.
You can see it right there, can’t you ma’am? You have no excuse not to meet your husband’s sexual needs. It’s no less than fraud. And it’s a biblical command.

Defense Attorney (counsel): Let’s see. Your honor, I call to the stand…Mr. Husband.
Mr. Husband, please read to me this passage from your scriptures- I believe they are red-letter words, the words of Jesus himself. Found in the Gospel of Luke.
Mr. Husband, have you done this without error?
No?
How about this one, from Ephesians 5: ‘Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.’
No? But both are commands, are they not?
Well then, your honor. It is apparent here that this man has attempted to throw the good book at his wife. Yet by his own admission, he has not kept the commands either, and therefore is no less guilty than her. Both can be sentenced. Or perhaps the husband would reconsider his demands.
